Ticket transfers

A participant who can't come sends their ticket to someone else, who gets a new ticket in their own name. No resale, no screenshots.

2 minOwners and editors

A participant who can’t come can send their ticket to a friend from their account or the app. The friend accepts, and gets a new ticket in their name; the old one stops working. You know who’s coming, and screenshots shared around don’t work.

  1. The participant chooses Send on their ticket and types the other person’s email.
  2. The other person receives an email, signs in with that address, and accepts or declines, within 48 hours (or before the event starts, if sooner).
  3. Accepted: a new ticket, with a new QR code, is issued in their name. The sender’s ticket stops working.

While the offer is open, the ticket is refused at the door as Ticket Being Transferred; the sender can cancel the offer to use it again.

  • Once per ticket: a ticket received from someone can’t be sent on.
  • Only bought tickets: guest-list invitations can’t be sent.
  • Only valid tickets, for a published event still to come.
  • The order stays with the person who bought it: if the event is cancelled and refunded, the money goes back to them.

In the event’s Details, Chat and extras, untick Participants can send a ticket to someone else. It’s on by default.
