Support the organizer

Let participants add a voluntary contribution to their order, on top of their tickets.

2 minOwners and editors

Some participants want to give more than the ticket price: for a free event, a benefit night, a small venue. With Let participants support you, your checkout offers them a contribution.

In the event’s Details, tick Let participants support you. It applies to that event only.

Under the tickets, Support the organizer offers a few amounts and a field for their own; the first choice adds nothing. The contribution is added to the order’s total and shows as its own line, Voluntary support, in the order and on Stripe’s receipt.

The smallest contribution is €2 (or the same in the event’s currency), so the payment fees don’t take most of it.

  • Kesho’s fee is per ticket: a contribution adds no platform fee.
  • Stripe’s fee applies to the whole payment, contribution included.
  • The contribution reaches you with the ticket money, in your next payout.

A contribution is a payment, so it needs Stripe connected, even on a free event. Without Stripe, a participant who adds one can’t complete the order; free tickets alone still work. Turn the option on only once Stripe shows Charges enabled.

When you refund a whole order, you choose whether to Also return the support. It’s off by default: people who supported you often prefer to leave it. When you refund only some tickets of an order, the contribution stays.
